Alt, Beck and Gottschalk Fashion Lady

$1,450.
Made in Germany by the firm of Alt, Beck and Gottschalk comes a young fashion lady (15 1/2") with a grown up sweetness all her own.  Her girlish, round bisque head has blue glass eyes, a closed mouth, a very fair complexion with soft shading and decoration, and antique blond mohair wig in a full, curly style and pierced ears.  She has a swivel neck on a bisque shoulder plate and her all leather body is gusseted at the elbows (patched to reinforce), hips and knees.
Her camisole seems to want to stay on her as it may have been on there from the start, so photos of the body are not completely thorough, however the upper torso is in fine shape.  Her silk and lace gown is quite a remarkable creation with a lush layer of lace ruffles and gathers on the bodice and the front skirt overlay,  and an ecru silk skirt with a flowing train following her.  Topped off with a colorful, antique chapeau of purple velvet, pink and green silk ribbon and some floral accents.

Jumeau Exhibition Portrait Fashion

24"
Special Character Series

  ON LAYAWAY

Uniquely sculpted with an elegant, character molding, we have here a rare, Jumeau deluxe fashion doll, in a large, exhibition size.  The Exhibition fashions, circa 1880, usually had ethnic features, dressed in foreign or exotic costumes, and would travel to and from exhibitions and fairs all over Europe for display and education.  The costume on this beautiful lady is not original, but made with antique silk fabric and trim, so her original presentation is not known, except for the elaborate up-do, original wig that crowns her finely detailed face, sultry almond eyes, strong feathered brows and eyelashes, long, aquiline nose, high cheekbones, pierced ears, and for her,  very rare, open rose- colored lips with teeth showing.  The very first of these new innovative series of portrait fashions was not ethnic and much like this fine example, except for the open mouth. .

She has a swivel neck on a bisque shoulder plate and a fully leather, gusseted kid body.  There is an area of leather patching on the back of the hips and evidence of some reattachment to the collaret and chest area.  Underneath her silk, two-piece promenade gown is an impressive antique, lace adorned slip (has many holes) with a long train that flirts with the hem of the skirt train, a pink corset and antique pantaloons with pink ribbon accents, and on her head, a fabulous antique chapeau of heavy, bent straw with a metallic tinge.   The title of portrait that identifies this lovely fashion has special meaning as she photographs as if she is truly in a period painting of a special lady!

Lovely Barrois Fashion Lady

14 1/2"
Compelling, Angelic Face

$2,950. ON LAYAWAY
,

The stunning quality of this early French fashion give her a life of her own, with her almond shaped, blue enamel eyes, full bisque face and shoulder head with the palest of complexion, subtle shading, and delicate decoration of features.  Her rose colored lips seem to slightly smile with contentment.  Her styled, blond mohair wig is antique and her gusseted,  all-kid leather body with stitched separate fingers is in beautiful, firm condition with a mall patch of repair at her left elbow and knee.

While her opulent, two piece silk walking dress is not original, it is a skilled interpretation of what this lady would have worn, in antique fabrics and trim.  Underclothing is antique as is her prim, flowered straw bonnet, and her heeled slippers are of more recent production, but in the antique style.
